Our mission is to support local artists and to promote Maldon as a vibrant arts hub and arts tourism destination.

Maldon Artist Network, a key strategic and coordination organisation for the visual arts, was established in 2012 when artists began meeting to share their talents, creative ideas and knowledge. This collaborative process saw the establishment of many successful arts projects including: Art Walks, biennial Portrait Prizes, an inaugural Landscape Prize, a mural project, local studio openings, workshops for practising artists, pop up exhibitions, and the staging of the Maldon in Winter Art Exhibition in partnership with the local trader association, Maldon Inc.  More recently Maldon Artist Network facilitated and supported the establishment of an artist run Gallery, situated in the middle of our historic town.  The Maldon Portrait Prize 2025 will be the fifth prize MANET has presented, this time in partnership with Cascade Art Gallery.
